Savor
by Kimberly Wilder
There was this chef - horrible guy - who talked of disgust as patrons devoured his art. A reminder on an intuitive eating journey: slow down, but stop with the horrible guys. Eating intuitively has only been easy alone - in a hostel - in the middle of the rainforest. There it takes no effort to savor the sweet plantain one methodical bite interrupted by bird song. The next by the largest flying bulged-eyed creature ever seen. Staring down this giant intruder with unshakeable confidence. The next by the aroma of locally sourced coffee. Now a sip. No cream needed. This is total nourishment.
